Abstract

Coliform bacteria is an indicator group of bacteria to determine the quality of water quality from the environment. The purpose of this study was to determine whether ther were Coliform bacteria and to determine the characteristics of coliform bacteria in simbara water sources in Galiaman Halmet, Kec. Kerajaan Kab. Pak-pak Bharat. This study begins with sampling at there points, namely up stream, middle and downstream with a concentration of 0,1 ml, 1 ml, 10 ml. parameters measured in this study include water pH, water conditions, and the environment. This research uses descriptive data analysis with MPN tes and IMVIC test. In the MPN method, it was found that there were 21 positive results from the estimator test, 9 positive results from the compirmation test and 3 positive results from the complementary test. The IMVIC test shower positive results on the methyl red test, the citrate test, while the negative test results on the Voges-Proskauer indole test. Based on the research that has been done, it can be conclude that there are Escherichia faecal Coliform bacteria. With the characterics of Coliform bacteria which have a round shape, flat edges, flat elevation, metallic green color, gram negative.
